Theatre Handmade and New York's Invulnerable Nothings are presenting
the UK Premier of
WHAT EVERY GIRL SHOULD KNOW
by Monica Byrne at The Bush Theatre on Friday 3rd April at 7.30pm. This one night event will benefit the International Planned Parenthood Federation, one of the leading reproductive healthcare providers in developing nations.
Byrne's irreverent and engrossing play explores the bond between four young women in a New York City Catholic reformatory house in 1914. The girls adopt Margaret Sanger- pioneering birth control activist and a founder of Planned Parenthood, IPPF's parent organization- as their secret patron saint, collectively inventing a new world in their small dormitory. As they increasingly retreat into shared fantasy, the reveries they discover are threatened by realities they cannot escape.
Our aim is to give this bold play a longer life in London after this exploratory staged reading at The Bush.
THE EVENT IS FREE BUT DONATIONS ONLINE AND ON THE DOOR ARE ENCOURAGED!
