Fresh Lines at Somerset House
Handmade performed Di & Viv & Rose (in an hour) at Spring Restaurant in Somerset House while an audience of 40 we served breakfast curated by Skye Gyngell. Fresh lines is a passion project of Producer Trish Wadley's. It is an arts salon that promotes emerging theatre and artistic ventures. We loved working in the unconventional space of a restaurant and hope to take the play to others like it.
Words and Things at Arcola Theatre
Our new writing event at The Arcola Theatre celebrates performers who write and act in their own work. Our first event involved 10 fabulous pieces which we completely unique. Some had never been performed before, which made it a very intimate and exciting room to be in. We sold out tickets rapidly and the money raised goes towards our Edinburgh run and Clean Break Theatre Company. We will do them biannually from now onwards. Schools tour of
Di & Viv & Rose (in an hour)
We are passionate about the educational elements of theatre and our tour of schools highlighted the importance of this. We went to all girls senior schools, performed the show and held a Q&A afterwards.
The response was very inspiring and the young women had so many questions about a whole range of issues the play explores. We hope to continue this tour after Edinburgh.
The Pussy Grabber Plays
We launched the London premier of these 8 short plays at the Playground Theatre in London. Each play is based on a different sexual assault allegation made towards President Trump. Written by women, staring women and directed by women. This was a fantastic start to our second year as a company.
